  • DEATH

    Fallen leaves, barren trees, icy breeze
    Awesome silence
    Horizon stretching across eternity
    Eternal destiny
    Silence above the deafening roar
    Shards of light stream through
    Brilliant corridor.

    Yet it can be injustice.
    To kill someone before it is there time to die.
    Murder is considered one of the biggest crimes you can commit.
    Yet death is inevitable.
    Many people think things will be better after death.
    I don't get it.

    ryc  I know it was a rhetorical question but I must say I am not very good at just sort of mentioning God to those I bump into.  That is tough in a 60 second time window.   Left another comment on yesterdays post there.

    ryc I don't mind the "tough" questions.  We all need to think about what we are doing, just doing isn't enough most of the time.

    Good comments on my site. Thanks. That's why I have trouble with the song,"I Can Only Imagine". I don't have to imagine. I've got eye witness accounts in scripture of people coming in contact with the glorified God and Savior. They were all struck dumb and fell as dead. I don't see any of them jumping in God's lap or running up and giving Jesus a hug. We just don't have any concept of how holy pure holiness is......

    luckyfreecoin - Some people experience such horrible emotional and psychological pain that they begin to think that only death can silence the horrors in their mind. Even the thought of an eternal hell is met with, "Well, it can't be any worse than what I'm going through now."

    saw your comment at Tim's site, (Casey_at_bat) I cracked up when you remarked about seeing couples at the grocery store w/ kids! I'm laughing because some days I think how lucky some people are to be single! :) Don't get me wrong, I love my family, it's just there are days when you go...what was I thinking when I said, I do???

    Ha Ha, I had similar thoughts as Kerrie ^.  Really though, God has each of us where He wants us.  I know for me I would have gone through life believing I was a very patient, understanding person.  Having a family has taught me that I don't have those characteristics (in myself).  I need a daily heart change and infusion of the Holy Spirit to be that kind of person.  For me that has been a true blessing.  Paul wrote to the Corinthians that some people were better off single.

    what a sad portrait of death, breath_of_dawn.  sometimes, the outlook on death isn't so bad.  just one step closer to being with God for eternity...  and yet He gives us a place and a work here to fulfill!
