  • Morning Light

    (PS: click photos to enlarge)

    And early visitors

I tried to get a closer shot of the bunny, but he scurried away.

Then there was this cute little guy I found while sorting my laundry:

Dang, I need a real macro lens....

Scamper and I checked him out for about an hour, and many photos were taken....

And since he was such a cooperative little subject, I released him outside.

But this group of persistent pests fared less well......

    Mamma hates ants......
    *********************************************************

Which brings me to the subject of judgment.

What will God look at when He judges us?
What will He be looking for when He judges our hearts?

    One thing: Love

    (but Mama hates ants!)

Awwww. Cute little lizard. I'm surprised Scamper didn't try to eat him. My sister is always dealing with lizards in her yard in Florida. The cats like to leave them at her doorstep as presents for mommy. I'm glad to hear this little guy shown above got to go free.

    RYC: I love taize.

I hate ants to. It's one of the few creatures where I think the only good one is a dead one.

God looks for perfection, he is Holy and Righteous and without sin. So because no one is perfect we deserve eternal separation from God. But because God wants a relationship with us, He sent his Son, Jesus who lived a perfect life without sin. His death on the cross was his payment for all our sins. And if we believe in Jesus Christ and want to turn from our sinful ways, we will be saved and see God in heaven. God does want us to show love but more importantly he wants to have a eternal relationship with us.

I'm not sure that I would find the lizard to be so cute if it was in the middle of my just cleaned laundry!  Or, was it headed to the washing machine?  When Harry and I were first married, our next door neighbor had a mouse problem. We heard her screaming one evening, and ran over.  There was a mouse in the bottom of her washing machine, looking more scared than she was.  I commented that at least she saw it before she washed her clothes, rather than finding its drowned body in the clothing when the cycle finished.  Somehow she just didn't seem to appreciate her good fortune......

God wants His love in my heart.  Not some reasonable facsimile that I have created.  I like scottrobert's take on this one.  Surprised the cat didn't dismantle the little guy!

I, too, was surprised the cat didn't jump into the laundry basket to at least play with the little guy. And Pepper came over to see the excitement, but decided it was boring and walked away. Of course, the little lizard was pretty terrified. No doubt he was a baby (hmmm, just where are the rest of the eggs?)

The lizard was too small to get out of the basket and the cat seemed to be content to keep an eye on things as long as he stayed in there. I'm sure if I'd set him free on the carpet, he would have been no more. :lookaround:

You found a lizard.....while doing LAUNDRY?! How?
I would flip, but with excitement of course, keep the lizard, and name it Fernando.

That first shot is coooooool. May I mention something though?

In landscape/nature shots, if at all possible, take the time to try and eliminate human distraction from the scene. Small bits of buildings and such divert attention unless it meshes with the outlook.
....Yes, that is me being EXTREMELY picky, hahaha. I think it's like what I was talking about that shot I took in central park of New York. Being around concrete so long, I was like "Give me nature, and ONLY nature!"

ryc:  I have to laugh about your comment on my son's teeth...I used Dawn's (lastoriafoto) photoshop tip on whitening teeth...it worked like a charm. But maybe you already knew that...either way...funny comment.

    Nice shots...lizards are cute.

nearly everyone has commented either on God or the lizard and both, I admit, are worthy topics in their own respective ways: God is at the center of all and the lizard is not only one of His creatures, but a cute one at that. In fact, I like all your photos--they reveal something about you as person and the things that you notice in your everyday world. But I think I like your "Morning Light" the best. That is a truly beautiful picture. If that is the landscape you wake up to every morning, you are truly blessed.

Nice.  Is the mountain part of your back yard?

Wow, the pic of the mountain range is beautiful.  That would be awesome to wake up to every day. -Jen
