  • So, here's how far I got. (*see below*)

I have put the sofa and love seat in nearly every conceivable configuration, including putting them in exactly the opposite positions from one another.

Here's where I ended up, right back where I started!

I definitely want to get away from having everything smack up against the walls.

But it needs a filler in that empty spot.

The idea here is to make the view out the window the focal point.

I'm thinking maybe this desk in that empty space: I'm looking for input.

It isn't like I don't have room to work with, just no sense of decorating.....

And a badly blurred picture! Just as well, it looks better that way. :)

IDK, maybe I'll go back to this angle.....

    Hmmmmm.......

I am no help.  I put everything up against the walls.  Hopefully someone will come along with real "taste" in decorating.  Cause I sure have none.

OMG..you've been busy. You're carpet looks nice.

My mom taught me to use graph paper and make scale pieces of furniture and draw a scale of the room. That way I can "move" furniture without really moving it. This works pretty good. I have no sense of decor either, but I don't have a lot of room either...maybe that makes it easier...fewer choices. Good luck on your final decision.

Good for you.  Moving furniture around is almost always a worthwhile activity.  Also, I sometimes think empty spots are God's way of furnishing a reason for getting more books.

Maybe you could fill it with a fish tank or one of them enormous stuffed monkeys you can win by playing ring toss at a carnival. Then again, what do I know? Before I moved in with my wife, I lived in an apartment where the living room was furnished with a TV on a cardboard box, two lawn chairs, and an inflatible sofa.
