  • I've noticed some things about my current age, and how different I am now from the way I was 20 years ago.

For one thing, I enjoy the wisdom that comes with age, but still have the youth to enjoy it.

When I was in high school, my best friend and I passed notes all the time, and our signature was TNS. What does that mean? Take no shit! I wasn't able to effect that phrase in my life for many years, but I've noticed - and others have noticed - that I'm, shall we say, a lot better at it :)

Maybe it's because I'm not a permanent employee, but I'm not afraid to speak up or take on patients or visitors who are out of line. In fact, yesterday there was a visitor approaching some of the younger girls, who wanted to avoid his advances but he had asked for coffee; so when I came upon the discussion, I said, "I'll take him his coffee." And one of the girls said, "yeah, Karen will take care of it; she's got......" well, I won't say what she said other than being a woman, it was anatomically impossible for me to have what she said I have.

The point being that I've gotten to the age, as I saw with that company last week and as I see consistently when someone wants to harass others, where I don't mind getting in your face if I see the need.

Not because I'm a bitch, but because I'm free, and things like injustice which have always enraged me have now found my voice to a greater extent. Which means I am no longer afraid.

I am no longer a slave to fear. The world does not own me, nor anyone in it.

    I love being free.

EDIT: On another note, I caught a bit of Kenneth Copeland on TV while I was getting ready for work yesterday morning, and I see he's already prompting his followers to vote "God's way" which means of course if you don't vote Republican you aren't doing things God's way.

People, however you vote, don't let someone else tell you what to do.  If you believe the candidate supports the things you truly support - not just what you're told you're supposed to - then vote for them.

For freedom we are made free. Many people carry on about freedom of speech, and it is a great thing to carry on about and to protect, but I think we need to add "freedom of thought" to that, because if you're constantly bombarded with indoctrination and told what to think, to feel, how to act, what to beliee - you are not free.

Amens to everything you´ve said here, Karen!

and double Amens to the last part...I totally support people voting THEIR consciences...not someone else´s.

Listen to others, but weigh it out against what you truly believe.

    be blessed...the youthful ¨old guy¨

This election is going to be the most interesting in a LONG time. I'm anxious to see who I will vote for.

Yay for freedom! And I like your TNS attitude. :goodjob: I believe I'm the same way.

And thanks for posting about Kenny and encouraging people to think for themselves. It needs to be said.
