Now to backtrack a little. Yes, to love and be loved by another person is a flawed prospect; as the individuals are, by definition, flawed.
(You know, " For all have missed the mark, and fall short of the glory of God.")
I know that love is wonderful, but in the context of a human relationship, it has its price, as you have noted.

I like the thought you provoked with the ruminations about desiring God. That, indeed, is what I long for. I read the Word of God (ie, of course, the Bible) to get more and more help in knowing about Him, but what I long for is His presence; closer relationship with HIM.
Good to hear you're on the mend. Also good to hear that your immune system has sent the hematologist packing; those guys creep me out (you know what I mean).
