• Never Ending Winter

  I went shopping yesterday for a new fridge. The refrigerator I have now is 18 years old, a side by side freezer fridge. I love this fridge. It has kept a lot of beer cold for me over the years.

  Lately however, it has been whining and moaning and making all kinds of annoying noises.It is whirring and cheeping and generally making my life a little less than perfect. The noises are getting louder and louder , so the time has come for a new fridge.

  So I set forth in The Mood to look for a new fridge. It was a beautiful Spring-like day, the sun was shining without a cloud in the sky.I took my orthotics out of my winter boots and put the boots away for another year.I wore my sneakers yesterday!! Yippee!! I looked at fridges, had lunch with my buddy Wes and all in all was having a pretty good day.

  On my way home I saw 4 deer eating on a hillside in the sunshine. It was an absolutely glorious sight. I really dig seeing nature, and this was nature at it's finest. It made my day.

  Today I opened up my door to discover we are being hit with ANOTHER freaking blizzard. I swear this goddamned winter is never going to end.Mother Nature is being one really nasty bitch this year, she teases us and just when we feel safe... WHAM!! I have lost count of all the snowstorms we have been subjected to this winter but it is far more than most winters.Certainly a lot more than our recent past winters.

  Makes me wonder if I dated Mother Nature. I checked the list of women whose lives I've destroyed ( you know, the poor things that fell in love with me) but I didn't see her name on it.But I'm pretty sure she is doing this snowstorm thing just to make my life miserable.

  The only good thing is that I can keep my beer cold outside my door and unplug my fridge.

  If only I could unplug Mother Nature's winter system.
