Aaaaaahhh to Dance!!
It is pouring rain outside, and I mean pouring!! The only liquid I've seen go down faster is beer in my throat on a hot day.
Or a cold day.
Tonight my girls have a dance recital. I have to go.
I do not want to go.My daughters are like me...they have the rhythym of a 5 legged horse. There is no beauty in watching them dance. They are not graceful or poetic in their movements. They try hard, I have to give them that, but try as they might they will never be good dancers.
I had to dance in one of the musicals I was in about a million years ago.The Charleston. I trained for months to master that damned dance and finally I did. I looked like a 5 legged horse doing the Charleston.
Of course I can't dance at all now. Hell , I have trouble walking, dancing is now out of the question.I knew I would find something positive about the accident if I looked hard enough!
Their mother, the Sea Hag , is an even worse dancer than I am . Hard to believe that is possible I know, but trust me...She REALLY sucks.
So my girls come by their total lack of talent and rhythym honestly. I admire them for their grit in taking classes and trying so hard. I really do.
But I still don't want to go tonight.
They are too old now to be cute. There will be no " awwwws" coming out of anyones mouths while they are on stage. Now it is just kind of painful to watch....and boring. And they are way past the stage of " needing " me to see them. But I have NEVER missed them on stage yet and I'm not about to start now.I've been to every school concert and every recital and every play.
But this is the last time. Call me a bad parent, but this is the last time.
Now I've got to call Noah and see if he has any room in the Ark, or start swimming to my car.

Rhythm is over rated. I took dance for years and never figured it out.
But if they enjoy it, more power too them. This world is far too full of people afraid of doing things they enjoy because they rather lack talent or skill.
There really is nothing more dreadful than sitting through a dance recital, though. Have a cold one on me and stay dry, eh?
I don't know many fathers who enjoy dance recitals, Brick.
I wish I could have seen you doing the Charleston>>Priceless! lololol
SO? did you enjoy?
Laughing outloud.
Miss you stinky.
Earth to Brick. Just wondering what you've been up to.
