| | Celebration and ThanksgivingThis weekend our worship leader, Joe Mapa (see http://www.xanga.com/Servant_Of_God), graduates from college with a degree in sociology. (Congratulations Joe!) Joe has been leading worship at BridgeWay242 for more than two years. Joe also has a heart for urban ministry and serves with a ministry in DC called Little Lights. We offer this prayer to God for our brother and friend.
Dear Father,
We thank you for Joe, for pouring out grace on him through Christ, for giving him the gifts of music and song, and for planting in his heart a passion for Your Name. We thank You for Your faithfulness to him through his college years, and for making him a part of our church community.
We ask that You fill Joe with the grace and knowledge of Christ, so that he may always live in a way that honors You. Show him the heights and depths of Christ's love. Strengthen him with endurance and patience as he begins a new chapter in life. Give him new opportunities to serve in Your kingdom. Put new songs in his heart. Work in his life in ways that far exceed what we can ask or imagine, for the glory of Your Name.
