| | I did it. Completed my first 10K in under my goal time. I had been training to do it in under an hour. But first it was a good day to run. Temps in the 50's but warmed up during race. The park most of it runs thru was beautiful wiht the turning leaves. This was my biggest race too with over 1300 runners in 2 races the 10K and a 2 miler. The 10K had some high caliper runners in it. A few that ran the Olympic marathon trials. Briana Shook, the recorder holder in American steeplechase. And Runners World's Hal Higdon ran it. Then spoke for a few and passed out the awards. Now the crowd at start of race may of helped me. We wernt able to get to a fast start. Some hills but it was more downhills then up. I paced myself pretty constintly and finished strong. Total time was 56:03 according to my watch. They actually had me faster. Some of there times were messed up. I bought a new watch so I could keep splits so here they are: mile 1: 9:02 Mile 2: 8:49 mile 3: 9:18 mile 4: 9:06 Mile 5: 9:08 mile 6.2 10:39
I hope you all had a good weekend |
