Against all common sense I ran a 5K race today, The Vienna SweetHearts run.   I had to get up with too little sleep after working night shift.  I went to bed at 6 and got up and 10 the first time when my wife woke me up.  Finally a little after noon I dragged myself out of bed.  I been fighting a cold the last couple days to add to it.  But I was already signed so off I went.  Perfect racing weather, 30 degrees, windy, snowy. but roads werent covered.   I had taken a month off and was just getting back into it.   I showed up and the   fire department was there already.  Apperantly some one had caught the boxes the after race pizza in the oven to keep warm.  Normally they store them on it to keep warm.  It was mostly alot of smoke and they were airing out the place when I showed up.   I got my race bag and it was filled.  Running socks, thick gloves, a sports towel lots of other little stuff, some claimed bye wife and daughter.  She took the candy sweet hearts.   I ran it with the goal to finish, hoping to be under 30 minutes.  Well I did that barely.  Finished in 29:42.  They give finishers medals to everyone that completes the race.  And later supposed to get some special award for doing 2 of the 3 races in the series.  Couldnt make the second one.  Had about 70 people there for this small town race in February I thought it was good size crowd. 

Well off to watch rest of the Daytona 500.
