Happy Labor day!   I got up so I could get out to Newton Falls for a 4 mile race they have there.  Not my favorite race but I had a good time. last year I ran this race in 37:42.  My goal was simply to do better. That was my only other 4 miler.   Got there registered, did usuall warm up.  its not long enough that I need  to slow down alot from my 5K pace but is a little bit longer.

Anyways,  heres the good and bad.  My Nephew ran it with me, stayed right with me the whole race.  Finished 2 seconds behind me and took second in his age group.  He's 15 and just started running.   Probably be beating me soon.  real soon.  I finished in 32:40.  I beat my goal.  Very happy with the time.  Of course I was about sprinting at the end to hold him off.  Overall, it must of been smaller race then I thought since I finished 35th overall.  Then went in had some great food.

The bad.  I hate saying much bad about any race cause I know the organizers are trying.  I guess a few people who didn't preregister didnt get a t-shirt at first but later did.   But thats a chance you take signing up on race day, plus I know I got enough race tshirts.  The bad was they did odd age groups.  I was in the 37-42 age group.  Just missed getting an age group award.  Which was another complaint.  They gave out Tshirts for age group winners.  Umm I thought everyone got one when they signed up?   Oh well,  Hope everyone has a great labor day.
