Today I instead of running in a 5 mile race that I was considering, since it was too cold for that, I opted for option 1A. In total act of insanity I met 2 guys at Mill Creek park for a long run. There fun guys to run with. We planned to meet at 8 am, and it was 15* and -2 windchill. Plus the park roads were snow cover from night before. It was brutal but I really wanted to get a long run in. Once we started out I got warm enough, for most of way. My face ended up feeling frozen. There was once stretch along the lake that was real windy. Alot of the way the footing was bad with the snowcover. Plus the water carried had ice in it. Len said he couldnt get his water bottle open it was frozen shut.
We managed to finish, just when sun was coming out. A new Distance PR of 14 miles. I feel ready for my Half coming up in 2 weeks, also right on track in marathon training.  Hopefully it will be a little warmer that day. Now to rest my legs, They a little sore right now. Hoping to do a couple recovery miles tomorrow.

That is tough running in such cold weather, you're crazy!  A few years ago my friend Erica and I would run after work in sometimes below zero weather. People thought we were crazy but in a way it was fun!  We would dress in lots of layers with hats that covered most of our faces ... we would come back with ice on our eyelashes!  We never went 14 miles in that though!  The most we did was 7!
