| | Just came back from The Road Hammers concert at Centennial Hall. All I can say is WOW! Southern Rock mixed with country music and trucker anthems. These guys are fantastic live! I booked us a private table for ten, maybe 75 feet from the stage, kicked back with a couple of pitchers of Blue, everyone from work and sang along with everything!
Musical homework for the night... no matter what music you like, you must download these tracks...
Willin' - The Road Hammers Sister Golden Hair - America When I Paint my Masterpiece - The Band
Go... now... I'll wait.
What was the best part of the concert... during the song Girl on the Billboard (hilarious... a must hear) Jason McCoy, Claton Bellamy and Chris Byrne were having so much fun. You could just see it on their faces. They were born to be on that stage and born to be playing in front of a crowd of fans... doing what they love. These guys never accepted anything but everything they ever wanted. That's what I want. I'd love to be in a Southern rock band, but a) I can't play an instrument, b) No band would want me singing, and 3) ... I can't think of another reason, but there has to be one.
Anyway... they get to be everything they want to be and they don't have anything *cough* Beer Store *cough cough* holding them back. I'm in. I want that smile and that gleam they had in their eyes. They can't be the only ones. I want it too... Where do I sign up?
Dream Job Moment #482...
Playing Free Bird on the slide guitar in front of about 1000 screaming fans at a small venue where they can not only hear your music, but see the smile on your face as you play and sing...
'If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me? For I must be travelling on, now, ’cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see. But, if I stayed here with you, girl, Things just couldn’t be the same...'
