The iPod needs updating!  Now, you all know I love Bob Dylan and would die before giving up my collection of CDs, but sometimes I need a little more than him (can you believe I just said that?).  My iPod actually had thirteen of his albums on it, as well as a lot of other music, but it seemed like every other sing was Dylan, or sometimes it would just be Dylan song after Dylan song.  Since his music differs so much, certain songs just didn't go with my mood at the time.  So, I have cleared space and knocked Dylan down to about 1/5 of the songs now, keeping the best on there.

I need more music though.  I'm kinda sick of what I have on both my iPod and iTunes now.  I've had most of this music for a long time now, and need to add to it.  I've only bought a few CDs since being here (Daniel Powter, James Morrison, Fall Out Boy, Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams), but I just love fun music.  I tried to think of stuff I could add to my playlist, but it's hard to just come up with songs you haven't heard in a long time.  You kind of just have to hear them and then it snowballs from there.  I did think of the punk cover band Me First and the Gimme Gimmes which got me some hilarious punk covers of songs, then I remembered I wanted Nina's 99 Red Balloons, which somehow reminded me of Talk Dirty to Me by Poison.  A post on someone else's site made me think of Mama's Got a Squeezebox by The Who which somehow led me to a few Pink Floyd songs, which somehow made me download music by Bob Seger, Kansas and Warren Zevon.  I know, it's getting weird.

As for country, I jumped from Brad Paisley (one of my absolute favorites), to Trace Atkins, Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a few old Hank Williams Sr and Merle Haggard songs.  And, I kid you not, somehow I thought of Janis Joplin after these two and downloaded a few of her songs (Mercedes Benz being the best), which led me to Jethro Tull and Molly Hatchet.  Then a little Lou Reed, Three Dog Night and Martin Mull (yes, the comedian... his songs are hilarious!).

By this point I had overloaded my Limewire connection and stopped, but I still want more, different music to listen to.  Preferably fun stuff I can sing to, or even learn on the guitar (back to that now that I have the space and time).  For some reason I keep listening to Lady Madonna, Elanor Rigby and Maxwell's Silver Hammer by The Beatles as well as Still Crazy After All These Years and Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard by Simon and Garfunkel.  Not sure why, but I'm just drawn to them... oh and Every Man Has a Molly by Say Anything.

Okay... back to listening to music.  Any suggestions, please tell me.  I just want music and I listen to almost anything (rap music is not included in the anything I listen to unless it's old-school stuff like RUN DMC and Beastie Boys).
