| | Sunday... a quick recap
- Japanese Style Hot Pot Lunch. Basically a soup base with different vegetalbes and meats that you put in yourself and cook over a flame. Very good and popular in the colder months. We had a vegetable hot pot, spicy chicken, a more dessert style hot pot where the food was cooked in a milk tea instead of a soup base and an amazing jelly for dessert at was mango flavor but was covered in this fruit that I can't pronounce but is very very tart. Plus we had Plum Tea... so good. Plus we sat for over three hours talking. Her English is getting a lot better from when we first started hanging out. My Chinese is coming along slowly.
- Walk to a pretty famous bridge in Xindian where I had to laugh because her high heels kept getting stuck in the spaces between the wood slats. I almost had to carry her over the bridge and did have to help pull her out. Since it was after the typhoon it was very misty and foggy on the river. Very cool.
- Bus trip into the mountains to Oulai which is very famous for hot springs. Walked around the market which was pretty dead due to the rain, but we saw some of the small town and picked up a lot of snacks including hot spring eggs which are softer, hard boiled eggs cooked in the springs and then placed into a wine. They are so sweet and good. A lot of stray cats trying to stay dry that I stopped to pet. People here just ignore them so when someone like me does pet them, you get lot of weird looks. Bought a can of cat food for a group of cats hanging out under a big tree. They seemed happy when I gave it to them.
- And in non-Taiwan style, I caught up on Desperate Housewives and Prison Break online. I have to say, both are showing promise with the new characters and situations. I still can't really stand Scoffield and Sara on PB, and Lynette is still my favorite DW.
- Not feeling well. Natonal Holiday on 10/10, so I can rest, relax and attempt to finish the UFC PPVs and Sopranos I downloaded.
