  • Of lifted toenails and spirits

Saturday night I tripped coming up some steps at Anna's parents, and my big toenail on my left foot caught on the edge of the step and lifted up. Man - talk about hurt! I thought I had torn it off, but it might only be lifted halfway back. I still might lose it - time will tell. I'd post a picture, but it doesn't look near as gross anymore as it did when it first happened. Needless to say, it's pretty painful to walk on and is oozing some watery-type serum from under the nail constantly, so I've been trying to stay off my feet.

Earlier that day, we went paintballing, but only 4 people ended up being there, so the games weren't quite as interesting. I managed to stay relatively hurt-free from that, only to have the toenail incident later. Bleh.

Natasha Bedingfield is like a happy Joss Stone. I've been listening to her music today, and in a day of pop music filled with angst, hers is very upbeat and positive. I liked the lyrics here ..

'cause a face without freckles is like a sky without stars
Why waste a second not loving who you are
Those little imperfections make you beautiful, lovable, valuable,
They show your personality inside your heart
    Reflecting who you are
    Who you are

hmm. i haven't heard a WHOLE lot from natasha bedingfield, but she hasn't impressed me much [and i always thought joss stone was more old-school r&b/soul] . . . maybe i should give her another chance?
