We had a busy but fun rest of the weekend. We began to celebrate Gracie's 3rd birthday. Saturday evening Erik's parents came for a visit.
I worked on Saturday night (which was a story in itself) and they had birthday cake #1 and opened presents. So, we definitely bought 2 cakes for her birthday. One had butterflies and the other was of course a princess cake.
Grace and Lena with Grandma and grandpa. Don't ask me about the headband- I definiteley was not there to "monitor" the situation :)
On Sunday we made the trip to the zoo. It is so nice to have our zoo membership, it was a bit of a sacrifice to buy it but we are so glad we have it now.
Erik and Grace posing with the gorillas- the resemblance is a little uncanny. I still am not sure who is harrier; Erik or the gorilla.
We all took a ride on the train!
Erik had to ride the tiger on the merry-go-round. No comment neccessary :)
Grace had her face painted as a tiger. She looked adorable!
We had a great time at the zoo. It was nice because we got there early in the day and left before it got too busy or hot. After the zoo we ate lunch at Red Robin before Erik's parents headed back home.
This is a picture of the blanket that I made for Grace for her birthday. I was going to wait to give it to her on her birthday but she woke up early from her nap and saw it- so I very well could not put it away at that point. I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.
Last night my family came over for cake and icecream. We had a great time playing and visiting. Uncle Erik even played some candy land with miss grace.
Grace blowing out the candles on birthday cake #2. Notice that it does have 4 princesses on it! I bet you can't tell who picked this one out?!
Our family
My mom, dad, and brothers with the girls.
This is the scooter that my grandma got for grace. She absolutely loves it. NOtice that she is wearing a princess jacket, princess jean capris, and is carrying a princess purse. I sometimes wonder where this kid came from! She is also wearing her brand new Pink Crocs that Uncle Joe gave her- he definitely knows his girl!
This is a picture of grace with all of her presents. She got lots of princess things, a scooter, jewelery, crocs, doctor kit, a cool pink camera from mommy and daddy, and it is not even her birthday yet!
Needless to say, today we are laying low and recouping from the busy weekend!
