WHAT IS WORSHIP?According to the American Heritage Dictionary: some of the definitions of worship are ~ 1. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object. 2.The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed. 3. Ardent devotion; adoration. The Bible is full of good verses on worship. Not surprisingly, since the book of Psalms was Israel's song book, it contains whole passages of Scripture to help us worship our Lord. However one of my favorite worship passages is in Revelation 5. Here it is in the NIV. The Scroll and the Lamb
Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.
And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.
By the way, notice how many times singing was involved in worship? Lenny LeBlanc & Paul Baloche are the authors of the featured song below.
This song has probably become my most favorite song of worship. I can sing it over and over again, and with each time that I sing it in worship to the LORD, the truths of the song become more and more real and precious to me. I offer it here for you to sing along with as well, in worship to HIM: WHO ALONE IS WORTHY ~ ABOVE ALL.

Nepal is a small, landlocked country (about the size of the U.S. state of Arkansas) in southern Asia lying between India and China. As I have been meeting people from Nepal here on Xanga, I am becoming more and more interested in what God is doing in this country. I believe that there are great things being done, & that will be done in this country.

Please join me in praying for this country, as well as for my friends I've made here on Xanga.1. Pray for the elections later this year.
Nepal is to hold elections later in 2007, either in November or December. This is "a condition of a peace deal under which the Maoists gave up their decade-long insurgency against the monarchy and joined the interim government. Despite the election agreement, a Maoist member of parliament told VOA his party would still like to see the monarchy abolished and Nepal made a republic prior to the polls. Nepal's Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, however, has said the issues can be decided only by the elected assembly." (c) UPI
2. Pray for the Church in Nepal. For strengthening of believers, for those Christians who are serving God there, and who are yet preparing to minister there, including these Xangan friends:

It's so wonderful the way we meet people from all over the world here on Xanga. I'm really thankful that I joined Xanga when I did.
One of my sister's ultimate dream is to hike in Nepal. I'm glad to know that God is moving in the nation mightily.
Great song too! Thanks for sharing!
thanks you so much for praying for Nepal, I am so blessed because of your hearts of prayers and care for other nations.
Yes, the Election of constituent assembly is so vital for our nation, and its seems very scary as different parties and groups are giving many problems on the road of our future.
Please keep remembering our dear Nepal in your prayers la

Worship, God so deserves it.

Hi Sister,
thank you so much for stating about Nepal and informing everyone about us. It is very great to experience love, care and prayer from our brothers and sisters from around the world. It just amazes me that people from all around the world tend to keep their eyes on Nepal. It is so small that it is hard to pinpoint Nepal on the world map. haha.
Yes, prayer of very crucial for us at this time. The Constituent Assembly elections are due within the coming 5 months or so. But still the parties are not into any agreement and there are frequent events of strikes and protests. Also a lot of murder, extortions, kidnappings are going. Here these are on the daily news. Thank you for your prayers because that encourages us so much in these times of dispair and depression.
much love to you sister,
bless ya
