| | Breaking in the ski season like a High School virgin. (eww!)
I look forward to this time of year. Forget the winter breaks given by
school, screw the holiday season, it's all about sliding and carving
down a mountain at blazing speeds. Next to basketball, I'd have to say
skiing is my second favorite sport.
I love the views when you patiently wait for your lift up on the
gondola. The sights--especially the falls and spills of other
skiers/boarders--makes everything worthwhile. Although I bring my
camera up the mountain every time, I have to apologize--once again--for
the blistering cold rendering my camera's battery almost useless.
Reading the owner's manual ;and of course most of you don't, it will
state that using electronic equipment (i.e. a digital camera) in
freezing temperatures is not recommended. That's a shame; perhaps I
should start abiding by rules and instructions more frequently. Thus,
my camera only lasted an amazing 15 shots before the battery indicated
it needed to be recharged.
Side-note:
I was asked a total of 12 times (new record) pertaining to my
Sleddogs--one time, having the trail lift operator ask me, "Hey,
where's your equipment?" That's when I lift my leg up, "Right here."
Without fail, every fly down a mountain, I get a slew of on-lookers
like they just saw an Asian floating on snow (wait--it gets better),
with cornrows. Now if that's something you see everyday, I believe it's
time for another prescription for contacts.
Now, on with the show with a few pics.

What does not belong?

Brother is uhh...taking his "medication."

I was side-tracked and ended up in some Narnia-like path. I had to trek
in knee-high snow. Well, at least I won't have to work out my legs for
the next month!

I think we were the only Asians on that mountain. No wait, I take that back; the only minorities.

(Meester Mike driving back home) Burnt but a good feeling. Can't wait for the next session. WHOOSH!

The Amazing Race
Everyday, after work, the LIRR trains
are packed. To make the experience more entertaining, the train
conductors race whenever they can. Here's a quick capture I took whilst
sitting near the window seat. Our train, since keeping count thus far
has a track (no pun intended) record of 12-8. Click here to view the video.
