Do
you ever get the urge to just stop everything you're doing and just
leaving? A spur of the moment kind of thing. Well, that's what I and
two buddies of mine did. Already past dinner time, we called each other
and within 20 minutes, we were all in a car, with food and music, off
to a road trip to a distant (not really) land. Welcome to Las Vegas Jr.
aka Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Big grins across. "WE'RE GONNA WIN!" was our mindset.
"We're lost. Again."
The
idea was that we had lots of gas money and yearned for a long distance.
We had the option of going to Philadelphia for a Philly Cheesesteak,
going up to Niagra Falls to see the...falls, or Atlantic City to strike
it rich (or lose it all, which we did). We found the latter to be most
interesting. But leaving New York at 8pm and coming back at 7:30am puts
a nice sleepy toll on your body.
Ooooh, lights!
Me realizing this might be the last photo I take with it before I pawn it for $75. (Thanks, Mr. BMW, you're a great tripod!)
"Remember, we're in the Itchy lot!"
Who dat?
Touristy
Ring in the new yarr!
Even the bathrooms reeked of oppulence. Nah, it just plained reeked.
David, on the left lost his contacts.
Are those real?
Jealous Tommy
You're...fired.
BLINDED!
Entering the abyss of no return.
Stairway to hea...
The pearly gates
What America's made of.
As soon as you take the escalator of corruption and sin, you're surrounded by people you don't want to be around. You could see it in their eyes; washed-up; cigarette-lunged; living paycheck to paycheck. The works. It was as if these people had clouds over their heads and the weatherman persistently heckles at them. Slightly depressing. Especially at 3am.
The sucker's game. We played them the whole night.
The
losing faces. If I had pockets to pull out to display the sheer
emptiness, I would, but I sold them to a hobo for $2. I lost that too.
(Yes, I wear glasses, but rarely.)
Where Tommy "found" a $20 bill. It's fake, he says. Wait, where's my wallet?
I
grew a double chin, Justin looks lethargic and suffering from hunger
pangs (he's only smiling because he's eating his tongue), Tommy with a
look of unease, wondering if we have enough money for gas.
Super-smooth stop-motion movie... That's the life of Atlantic City.
