had a fire drill today at work. It brought back fond memories of grade
school. Everyone got out of their offices and desks in a timely
fashion. Then we hit the fire exit. That's when we realized the fire
exit didn't open.
Not exactly serving its purpose there.

enjoys a little chatting at work every now and then. It keeps things
comfortable and sane. But sometimes a coworker can go a little too far.
Especially when you end up wanting to cut your lunch break short. By 45
minutes. "I've been in the industry for 25 years, and I've never ... yadda yadda yadda..."

The
fact that you decided to put your telephone on speakerphone is
annoyance in itself. But when you dial into our phone system that
places you on hold with an accompaniment of cheesy elevator music,
tempers begin to boil. It's sad that I recognize that tune, actually.
Very sad.
Your blatant misuse and abuse of operator music has
gone too far. This isn't a club where music should be listened by
everyone, including those behind thick walls.
So please, from
all of us here in the office, if you need to listen to music there are
iPods, radios, and flatulence to toot to your every audiophile needs.

If people didn't stand up and applaud every 2 sentences, the whole thing would take less than 5 minutes. If I was ever invited to the chamber, I'd bring an air horn and use it every time people stood up to applaud. Or start the wave.
