"Oh yes, I do, well enough," answered Diamond; "but I never just quite liked that rhyme."
"Why not, child?"
"Because it seems to say one's as good as another, or two new ones are better than one that's lost. I've been thinking about it a great deal, and it seems to me that although any one sixpence is as good as any other sixpence, not twenty lambs would do instead of one sheep whose face you knew. Somehow, when once you've looked into anybody's eyes, right deep down into them, I mean, nobody will do for that one any more. Nobody, ever so beautiful or so good, will make up for that one going out of sight."
At the Back of the North Wind, George MacDonald

Hey there cuz, its been awhile! Whats up with you these days?? Well...since I've finally got my laptop, I'm having fun on it! Nate was going to install a wireless router for us over Thanksgiving, but it didn't work, so we sent it back, and we're getting another one, hopefully it will be ready at Christmas when he returns! Oh, its also perty chilly here too! We had snow a week ago, its perty much all melted...but I hear we might be getting more by the end of this week. And Pathway b-ball team has a tournament umm...somewhere that I really want to go to! Well....can't wait to hear from you!

I just bought that book for Leah for Christmas. I hope she will like it.
I saw a book on Mr. MacDonald the other day and thought of you, miss belle.
cool quote and so true...
*sniff* either that's a really good quote or I'm this emotional from not getting enough sleep... I'll go with the really good quote.
*sighs* I love that book.
That's really wonderful, Carolita. Which reminds me. I get comments and e-mails...but none of them would be a special as from this one specific blond girl who was there at a very crucial time of my life when I needed a friend most. I have many friends up here...but none of them is quite like that one specific girl whose boss won't let her come see us.
(Of course, I know she's a busy girl.)
That's a really awesome quote. I think maybe I need to read that book.
Yes, I thought that my mother being here for a week would make up for Jamie being missing. But the hole in my heart is just as big...and only a specific girl named Jamie could fill it. She is so sweet. She calls me everyday and freely shares everything, as does Chandler. I love those two...er..one. We missed you being here...you missed a wonderful wedding, if I must say so myself.
Oh, wow... that brings back memories... I haven't read that book in ages. thanks... :)
