realization?i feel as if i am standing alone
i look from side-to-side
and see many roads
leading off into...
...into bittersweetness.
but ultimately, leading off into
continuing pain. and incompleteness.
this road, or that one
they are all unappealing.
i can't walk down them.
everything inside of me protests. everything.
but, these are my options
and it's like there is no hope for a better road
no hope for a better way.
basically, no happy ending.
so the only thing left to do
is to look straight up.
forget the roads surrounding me
and simply turn my head up,
close my eyes, begin walking,
and trust.
trust that God will create a new path
even as my steps are continuing.
this path is one i probably will never see
but it's one i can walk on
if He is guiding me.
because He said there is always a way out.
always.

I would probably have shed a tear reading that if I wasn't at work and not supposed to be on here.
Oh Sweetheart ... I understand .. BELIEVE ME! But even if a new path is not forged, you still have a God who can make all things new. He will reveal what the darkness surrounding the way cannot as you look down those seemingly unending, unappetising paths ... his light will gradually, in His timing, reveal the blessings that the darkness tries to hide to make you dispondant at what seems to be a lack of quality choices before you. HE will make your journey one of the heart and HE will allow you the grace to walk it in good times and bad. It may not all be easy, but in Him .. it is all good!
......and about those paths that seem to be bright and wonderful in others lives? Remember .. that which shines is not always gold!

An added note: Sometimes we do see the right path, but it is not always appealing...
...we can't see the end of any of our options, just the first stretch
...the first stretch, I think God intentionally lets it be a misrepresentation of the path just so we look up....
