  • It's Sunday afternoon.  I should be writing and I probably will sometime after this.  I had hoped to get a number of things done.  That list won't get everything crossed of but I have a start.  Tomorrow will be somewhat easy, as the kids have the day off of school and I will not be staying home with them.  For me, I do best with a regular routine.  I'm suffering for it for yesterday but it was worth it.

Last night we went out to friends.  As an example of how often that is, a co-worker of COD and said something to the effect of "I don't think I've ever seen the two of you together in the same room" and I think that I've seen him a total of twice myself.  We arrived on time even with carpool duties.  Ate fabulous appetizers already plated for us.  Took a tour of an apartment/condo which was adorable, but small.  By small, I mean the door to the bathroom just clears the toilet.  You couldn't put the front page between them.  (Later we speculated whether the plunger was doubled as a sex toy.  You should see it.)  Dinner at a restaurant of alternate choice.  It was good and OK at the same time.  Tastes good, too dark to see, and the steak sandwich should not have had to been pulled apart to get at the meaty bit, should have trimmed that one better.   But back to the place for a game of apples to apples and pie and cupcakes.  Before we know it, we aren't alone in the car until 1am.  Haven't had a night like that in a while.  If I slept now, I would be gone until morning.

But now I am on my couch preparing to transcribe all of the handwritten story that I wrote Friday.  Saturday was a wash in the writing department.  I'm not sure how much I could get done today.  It is taking an abnormal amount of effort to get this written.  But I will try.
PS: I am cleaning up my subscription list.  If any of you use links through this, be aware that I will be deleting ones that look like they have gone inactive.

  • It's so nice to be able to let go of all the obligations and remember bits of yourself that you had nearly forgotten . . .

I never got around to responding to your last post -- this new layout looks nice . . .

  • It's been far too long since I've handwritten anything. Last time was on a long train trip, on the Southwest Chief between Chicago and LA. I wrote two short (short-short, bordering flash) stories and one poem, which I then typed/transcribed when we returned home. It was fun. The writing stunk. Such is life.
