  • "What would someone have to pay you to give up your computer for a year?"
Enough to hire someone, on a weekly basis, to pay my bills and keep up with my checkbook.  I can manage without it for other things, but not finances.

(I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!)

In other news, I have eaten a dry bowl of Cheerios!  Honey Nut Cheerios at that!  This is a sign that I have returned to humanity.  I did get a bit of  pleasure at our lovely grad student who called last night looking for some reagent.  I sounded like hell (still do), still felt like it and now am sure he feels somewhat guilty--or he would if he had any sort of conscience.  I can't stop coughing, am wary at eating, the thought of milk, my beloved drink of choice, repulses me, everything tastes like phlegm coated, cherry flavored throat spray, with the undertone of lemon Gatoraid, and my husband is starting to lose his mind at my convalescence.  But, I am up and coherent and in my mind that means I actually do feel better.  Tomorrow I go back to work.  Tonight I have to suffer through a conversation with my mother.  I do mean suffer.  She's notorious for never being able to get off the phone and it still hurts to talk.  We have to get arrangements done for her to come up and help me do a massive amount of sewing next week.

Today, I am willing to do things in between coughing bouts.  There's an afternoon nap scheduled in as well.  I am alone this morning as the family has gone off to church, not exactly the best place for me to be today.  And it's only 8:15!

Someone would have to pay me a jillion dollars to give up my computer. People without computers in today's society are taunted and lambasted. I suffer enough humiliation as it is, I don't want to be perceived as "one of those".

Glad to hear you're on path to recovery, or glory; which ever comes first.
