| | The washing machine just went psycho on me a minute ago...rocking back and forth and banging around like crazy. But all is well and rebalanced now. Whew.
I somehow completely missed this fascinating bit of news about a streaker at the men's curling bronze medal game. I can't imagine why that wasn't mentioned in the Olympic wrap-up yesterday. I mean seriously, isn't that worthwhile NEWS?!
More later...
EDIT: So I meet the Ejucated Guy & Jenn at the Olive Garden for dinner (and incidentally ate the delicious sausage & pepper rustica -- thank you Toby!). While we were waiting outside this guy pulled up in front of the restaurant, jumped out of the car and proceeded to confront a couple walking inside (just at the time they were passing directly in front of us). He's cussing a blue streak about being cut off in the parking lot -- the accostee (who I remember taking German w/ in college) of course denied being the perpetrator so the accostor stormed back to his car, still swearing up a storm. Can road rage be an excuse when you weren't the one driving? I am inclined to say no and just blame it on the fact that you're CRAZY...but maybe that's just me. And anyway, who the heck picks fights in front of the Olive Garden?
The ACT went fine for my room this morning (I had no crazy, stupid, chip-on-their-shoulder annoying high schoolers in my room, thank the Lord). It was a little crazy since the test had been cancelled two weeks ago because we thought we were going to get a ton of snow and ice (Tennesseans freak out when you talk about snow...if you actually have to live through a snow/ice episode it gets pretty crazy 'round here, lemme tell ya).
I will be housesitting for Becky #1 off and on most of the week, which means I get to watch Turner Classic Movies (woohoo!!). Her roommate Dianne's cat Whiskers isn't doing to well, I understand (he's 19). It's sad as he's a sweetheart. The latest is he's on blood pressure meds (!!!).
Tomorrow night: the final (I think) episode of Bleak House!!
Hmmm. So I watched Bode Miller's interview w/ Tom Brokaw...does anyone besides me think he is just so full of it? It's really kind of sad, ya know?
One of the greats has passed away...rest in peace, Barney! I remember watching the A&E biography of Don Knotts a couple of years ago and was just amazed at what this actor went through in his life, and what he dealt with, and how in spite of it all he managed to bring so much joy to so many people. |
