EDIT: YAY! Chris Botti (aka Ruth's Future Husband ) has a new project releasing this Tuesday, August 22 -- it's a CD/DVD package of a concert that was broadcast on PBS earlier this year. The DVD release has been delayed multiple times but this looks like it's a go at last...this makes for a happy Ruth...

Botti

Wasn't it like just two days ago that I was whining about Salty hurling all over the kitchen floor? Well, she did it again. Ugh.  I am such a bad cat owner...she doesn't get brushed enough I guess. She's some little hair growing machine. At least I hope that's all it is.

I am in total denial over the fact that tomorrow is Monday and I have to go back to work.  It's just been a really nice, very relaxing couple of days off. I didn't really "do" much of anything (except when Leah came over for dinner yesterday -- we watched The Slipper and the Rose and Dear Frankie -- oddly the latter movie -- a truly fine example of why Gerard Butler is a great actor  -- got me to thinking about Hamlet's "to be or not to be" soliloquy...go figure) but I enjoy not always being on the go. Now back to the "real" world and 4:30am alarms!

Left church a bit early this morning and met Jess for lunch at Jason's Deli. I got this ginormous broccoli/cheese potato, of which I only ate a third. So I have two more meals at the least to get out of that sucker, which isn't bad for six bucks!

I have been wondering this afternoon when I became such a country music lovin' hick (and I use the word hick quite respectfully, thank you very much). Not too very long ago I turned my nose up at all things country, which is hard to do when you live around here. In high school I was all "Country music? Eeewww!" (or some other exclamation equally witty). I guess I was just in denial.

You see, my father is an ag professor. AGR was the first fraternity I ever knew existed. So after years of denial I've come to peace with my inner twang and am listening to the likes of Dierks Bentley and Billy Currington on a regular basis.

It seems something of a contradiction that I'm on a country music listening binge at the same time I'm only watching BBC shows.

This is pointless, isn't it? In the interests of full disclosure, though, I thought I'd share anyway.  More later...

EWW! Hairballs. Yuk!  We have two cats, Little Baby and Biscuit. Little Baby has long hair and has hairballs quite often which is alarming because we feed them Science Diet Light Hairball formula. And he likes to go eat before he has one so their some barely digested food in the mix. UGGH! I am not looking forward to work tomorrow either. The highlight of my day tomorrow is going to be the Tupperware party I am hosting. I hope you have a great Monday at work. Brittanie :)

hehe.  Country music and BBC just don't go together at all.  BBC demands something a bit more sophisticated don't you think?  ryc  I have several stabbed in the foot stories.  Perhaps they will fit in later.  One was a nail like yours.  Don't know if I was up on my shots or not.  I begged not to go to the doctor.  We soaked it in Epsom salts and I was fine.

Haha! Fun blog. I love Dear Frankie! One of my favorite drama's ever! I go through phases when I love country music, and phases when I can't stand it. I'm not very tolerant at the moment, but I'm sure it'll come back. Have a good monday!

Country music makes the best love songs. And it's hard to avoid it around here too. More so down where I'm from. But I used to be anti-country as well. My hubby got me into it, since there's no way I'd've gotten him out.

I'm still totally loving Firebird. I'm about one or two chapters into the second part now. OMG so GOOD>

Looks like I am going to have to check out this Chris Botti person, especially if you are getting hitched. [grin] Wonder if there are any concert clips at PBS. Sometimes they put up concert clips.

Poor little Salty, when she hurls up her stuff, does it have hair in it, like it's mostly shaped like a hairball or a long tube shape of stuff and hair? That's the only way I've ever seen hair hurl, if it's anything else especially more like fluid like, then I'd call your Vet and see what they say.

As for the weed whacking guy, I'd have told him what I was thinking at that time of the morning. I'd have been a little peeved myself.

RYC: I just messaged you here at Xanga the details for mailing the book. Looking forward to getting it especially since I am incredibly grossed out by this Ted Dekker book I am reading right now. I am only two chapters in and I'm so disgusted. Hubby says to finish it though because even though it's icky, it's a good read.

As for my MIL...I was so riled up! I was really mad, I don't understand her at times. Her attitude was bad enough but last night she added to it with the arrogance factor. It's her birthday toward the end of this month and I have no idea what in the world to do for her birthday since they make it impossible to do anything for them. I tried to ask her what she would like to do for her birthday last night and all I got was the usual. - Lots of "hoity toity" and "lah-dee-dah" about they have everything they could ever want and need because "well we have the money to buy it so we do." Barf!

Geez!  In my last week of not checking up on you, you decided to go beserk here, didn't you?  I had about 15 e-mails in my in-box.  All ChristianFictionQueen updates.  j/k

I do not miss the hairball part of cats.  Mine always managed to have one during dinner and then no one would be able to finish their food.

Once upon a time, to my husbands happiness, I knew every pop song on the planet - from the 60's on.  Then I did a 180 and don't know any of them after 1998.  Country is my music.  Jeremy's favorite joke is:  what do you get when you play a country song backwards?

Hi Ruth!  Poor Salty!  If it's just hair balls...you can either go get some beef flavored junk or use vasoline...sounds gross but it works and the vet told me to do it when I had an outdoors kitty years ago.  Anyway...put a glop on the roof of Salty's mouth and she'll eat it and it helps the hairy little balls go on down.  Hope she's better soon and that nothing more serious is wrong with her!  Blessings to ya!
