This is a picture of the lavender Verbina I have growing in the alley behind our house. I could hardly believe how prolific they were this year. Last year I planted 6 small pots to see if they would take hold. WOW, did they ever!! I'll have asters later on this summer, but for now I'm lovin the lavender.

Charlene and I went on a garden tour yesterday. One of the houses we visited had verbena planted under an oak amid several other flowering plants. The low growing, carpet like habit was just lovely. I like the way you've done yours.

For some reason, my verbena did not come back this year....not sure why, but I will probably start over. I'm seeing a lot in the landscape stores now of the "homestead" purple. I think I want to wait and get a lavender....just beautiful.
