  • This Is Themes Thursday

At some point today (or this evening?) The Xanga Team has posted on the Xanga Team blog, and on the Xanga Front Page (under "From the Xanga Team") that I am the Featured Themes Designer for this week.

I am honored that they would ask me to participate. Thanks, Xanga Team!

That's my special news for the day.

The link to my themes site CynaraJanesThemes is always available, however.

I'm going to have to take DD#2 to see a different medical professional today. Her ear hurts really badly, her throat is very swollen, and I am certain that she needs antibiotics for a bacterial infection.

How is it that when a rapid strep test comes back as negative that it is automatically assumed that the infection is then viral? (To my semi-trained mind it just means it's probably not strep). It seems to happen a lot. I understand that the medical powers that be want to shy away from over prescribing antibiotics, but it is inconvenient and expensive to have to go to two different places and pay an arm and a leg both places - - not to mention causing undue pain and distress to make my child suffer any longer in the condition she's in without proper diagnosis and treatment. Can't they just get it right the first time? I know, they aren't all seeing and all knowing...I am as her mother. They should listen to me more. Ha! [ /rant ]

That said, I am pretty sure we won't be going back to the grocery store urgent care place any time soon.

I am off to call the doctor...

    Be back later.

    That's awesome....congrats on being Featured :D

  • seedsower

I suggested you !! You are an awesome theme designer and deserve that!!!!

  • Kestryl

Hah. When I had bronchitis last year, I was sick for three months (and it had almost turned into a severe case of pneumonia), before they said "Yeah, you have bronchitis".

  • skittler335

Wow congrats!  You absolutely deserve it! You make amazing themes! Hope you get things with your lil lady all figured out! Poor little girl! :ssfrown:

  • AcidSam

Yeeayy!  Congrats!!  You sexy coding geek.

I'm curious to see if the docs eventually categorize her ordeal as allergies.  I'm tellin' ya, that seems to be the catch-all these days.
I used to be one of those who'd catch the cold of the fool in Miami sneezing in my general direction.  My system has gotten better over the years; but my teens and early 20's were horrible.  Hopefully, she'll eventually grow out of it too.  It stinks!!

  • InGodzHndz

Congrats on being a featured themes designer!
Now, gear up, cuz you're going to get lots of footprints (probably on your other site...).

I was featured a few months ago, though I'm still not sure why!  I don't have all the super cool themes like you or anyone else!

RYC: It is written by a Christian, though he's not your typical Christian writer. I wanted to leave that slightly ambiguous as I have a few atheist friends who read my blog. I wanted them to get curious enough to pick it up and check it out. If you haven't read it, you should, it's excellent (though I'm only half way through).

  • jwcoffey

    Congrats, darlin'. That's very cool!

I hate when they say that it's viral... I just had my daughter to the doctor today, and of course... it's viral. Just because it's not strep. It's ALWAYS viral... is that the only word that they know?!

  • la_faerie_joyeuse

If your doctor isn't any good, then find one who is?
In about ten years, I'm sure I'll know a few quite excellent doctors (who are currently undergrads with me).

  • CynaraJane

@la_faerie_joyeuse - We have an excellent family doctor. That's the problem...he's so good he's always booked solid. We went to an urgent care facility initially, which is staffed by Nurse Practitioners. Looks like tonight we'll be headed for the ER.:ssfrown:

  • penny1966

Congrats !!!!  I have used several of your themes before and didn't even know it.  Thanks so much for creating them and sharing them with us.

Hope your daughter gets some medicine and feels better soon.

Hope the doctors office visit went well.

Yeah for the themes! I will make sure to go read it today! I need a new theme... When we have down time we should put the brain on that... HAHAHAHA Down time! I crack me up! lol

    Be safe!

  • bluemarsupial

Congrats you wild designer woman you!

  • Allen_Oz

    Paging doctor House... lol

I saw the theme site. Do you take requests?

  • CynaraJane

@Allen_Oz - Ha ha! But I love House! Yes, I take requests, but the turn around time is pretty lengthy at the moment. If you don't mind the wait then I'm your themer.

  • eCraig

Well, I see from your latest post that you did get help for Marisa. Tell her I love her .. get well soon .. and eat your fruits & vegetables.

Even color-blind-me can see the big red "Emergency" sign on that building as I drive down Wilmington Pike. Miami Valley South .. right? Very impressive inside. Makes me want to be certain to wear clean underwear without any holes every day .. in case I would need to go to that emergency facility.
And congratulations on you Zanga recognition. If you get caught up with your template commitments, I'd love to have you do one for me with my "ethereal" header theme. What do you charge to design a theme?
  • CynaraJane

@eCraig - I will tell her! Eating the fruits won't be a problem, but she sure doesn't like too many veggies (she's always been a picky little one).

Yep, MVH South. I don't get down that way too often anymore. I don't even remember the "Emergency" sign. If I have ever seen the sign it just didn't register in my brain. What if I'm just going senile? Wouldn't that be a heck of a note for me to go senile before my own dad?

Thanks...I'd be happy to make you a Theme once I get caught up. I charge your first born. Oh...wait...

  • FreeeVerse

CONGRATULATIONS! :) Your themes are lovely. I will try out one of your themes soon!
