I have always wanted to get married. Im not talking youre all out princess wedding(although it would be nice)but it could be a simple ceremony...say in Vegas...as long as I was in Love with the other person it didnt matter. I wanted to have another kid before I turned 32. My daughter(age 8 soon to be 9)is constantly askin me when she will get a brother cuz she doesnt want a sister(hazards of being around her 2 female cousins...lol). I feel bad for my daughter...I never intended on her being an only child,it must really suck. I wonder, with all thats happened lately,if these things will happen...or even if I want it to happen anymore. I still want to get married and have another kid but Im more scared now then ever about what will happen in our future and if I even want to subject another innocent child to it all. I guess only time will tell.

A MOTHER'S PAIN

What is known of a Mother's pain,
when her child's zest for life starts to wane?

How does she answer questions just right,
where does she look for perfect insight?

Should she give comfort when none is sought,
to keep this life from becoming naught?

Why is her child faced with this,
when she should be living a life of bliss?

How can a Mother's love not be enough,
to encase her child when the going is rough?

If hugs and kisses can no longer make something better,
how do you stop tears from making cheeks wetter?

What will make this child want to live just one more day,
when she says "I don't know why I was born anyway"?

Is there some way to make her heart light,
to prove her life can, once again, be bright?

These answers must come from somewhere above,
for they are out of the reach of a Mother's love.

God gave Mothers common sense and the power to ease most pain,
He also gave her the wisdom to know when she should refrain.

Mother's pray to God each and every day,
to seek His guidance every step of the way.

When her heart is heavy, not knowing what to do,
she knows her Fathers' love will come shining through.

He may not give the answer she was hoping to receive,
but she knows He cares, in her God she does believe.

As her loving Father, sometime His answer's no,
He gives her no solution, for her problem on earth below.

Yet she knows in Heaven, the answer she will surely gain,
as she escapes the bonds of earth and enters Heaven's domain.

The worst words in the english language are
" If only "

Try not to dwell on regrets. But work with what you have going for you allready.

BTW, don't feel bad, we all have regrets, and being an only child is actually alot better then having daily fights and arguments with a brother or sister.

But thats only my opinion, for the most part it seems to suck

Awwww man...that poem made me cry....that was beautiful

Hey lady ...look at me...I was single for almost twenty years. Took custody of my grandson and been alone for 13 years. I began to feel I'd never be with someone again. But now at nearly 50 years old...I have found an awesome man. One that I feel will be the rest of my life partner...one that I love more than I thought I'd ever love again. Never give up if it is what you want. And if your not sure...then the time isn't right. Doesn't matter if your daughter has siblings...what matters is that she has YOU!!!Tons of love to you!!!

The poem was beautiful..

And as for marriage and a kid.. they'll come along if they're meant to.  And usually whether you want them or not.

I already had the fairy tale wedding first time around, it was cool, but if I ever get married again it's definitely going to be in Vegas with an Evis impersonator officiating I hated being an only child, I was so happy when my dad got remarried and had kids, I have a younger brother and sister now and I also have an older step-brother and 2 older step-sisters from my mom's remarriage, so I guess i'm a middle child instead of an only child now Maybe if you find someone they'll already have kids and you won't have to worry about having another kid... I know I wanted a brother or sister so bad I didn't care where they came from, although i'm closer to the younger brother and sister, but I see them more, there still living with my dad.... Oh, and make sure your not looking for anyone, that's when someone usually comes into your life, it's strange, the minute you quit looking someone pops up... Good luck

I know what you mean.  I dont have any kids and am not married but I am fearful of what my future children will have to go through, considering what we see now. *sigh* Definite fear of the unknown.

Dap-er,  don't be afraid to live your life.  If your heart needs more kids,  then by all means have more kids.  You can't live in fear,  it's time to hope for the best and trust that everything will work out.
