Expand Mandala - © Sue O'Kieffe 2008
Spring is here and so it is time for a little spring cleaning. Off with the dark walls, on with something lighter and , well, springier! Green for the Earth, green for growth, green for the heart chakra, green for spring fever.
My experience with Weight Watchers is going well, but boy is it a test of my allowing for change in my life. I know that people are resistant to change; I have thought I embraced change, but you really need to be smart about change once you invite it into your life. I do feel better in my mind and in my body than I did six weeks ago, and have lost close to 10 pounds.
The mind likes organization. Did you know that? When I'm not organized, I fall back into old patterns.
I am working on new patterns and techniques in my art as well. Art mirrors Life. When I began making mandalas I envisioned creating a deck of meditation cards. I am working on a prototype now, first draft stuff. This is one of the cards. I am enjoying currently working in a more abstract style than I have in the past and am wanting to really contain Light in these Circles.
I hope Spring is treating you well.

yep. there's a reason why we fear change. it can give you a boo-boo. heh.
nevertheless, ya gotta go for it!
go sue!
love it my pupils actually expanded i have used cards a lot to educate myself in various things as well as to develop my intuition good idea spring is good here in the mountains sounds like yours is too change is everywhere inside & out blessings beck
I do love the light in this one.
Here's to spring and a new vision!
You do capture light in your mandalas. They glow. It's quite a feat - like painters who can paint water that has depth and surface.
A loss of 10 pounds is also quite a feat! Congratulations!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
I've never thought about the mind needing organization. That's interesting. I'm aware of mental models but never thought about the organizing part. Losing 10 is a great thing. Good for you for feeling better too.
Good morning Sue,
I have been out ofthe loop over the past few weeks... like you, work and life get in the way of blogging, but in the end I think we are better off living in the real world as much as possible!
I still enjoy stopping by now and then reading your words, seeing your mandalas and hearing about your struggles and triumphs.
may the peace of Christ be with you always.
Hey Sue!
w00t on change, it IS good ;)
I really like the glow of that mandala, it reminds me of a spring moon, the details then draw me in

How you dune?
Hola Sue, it seems as if we are all busy these days...a good busy though! I too continue to work hard at making foundational habit changes. It takes a lot of focus and energy. Keep up the good work.
I just wanted to let you know that I have had to create a blog speciffically for my art. It is Creative_Soulutions_Studio, Since I do not have a web site >>>yet <<< I have to have some kind of site for collectors and interested parties can visit as I have joined the Taos Artists Org. and they have a website for all the artists. For now this will be it.
Love and hugs to you! Liz - Ashes
Hi dancing girl. Your mandalas are still full of power and beauty as are you.
Well I am not surprised at all that you come along...after my on and on and on rambling and bring it to such clarity and simplicity. Thank you! Lots of love and a bushel of spring time hugs, Ms. Liz
Ryc. I call what you do...AAA....Absolutely Amazing Art...I sure cannot do it.
