| | I Am A Bird Now, And Also A Big Green Luna Moth Made Of Pills
I want a pet. Specifically, the pet I want is that lovely green butterfly in the Lunesta commercial. Apparently it's a special sort of creature that appears right after you take a Lunesta. It just flutters down from the heavens on lavender-scented wings, glowly greenly, and as it brushes your fevered brow with the softest of butterfly kisses, you fall right to sleep. It also converts all your pillows from acrylic fiberfill to the softest eiderdown, and fills your head with lovely, fuzzy clouds of half-heard side effects. I'm sure there are side effects, but they won't happen to me, will they, little butterfly? You'd never hurt me, my imaginary pill-induced hallucination, would you?
In other news, The Clever Man sent me an e-mail that Antony And The Johnsons are playing at Carnegie Hall on October 13th. So I looked up the kid, who sounds like Nina Simone and Tiny Tim's transvestite love child, and wrote him back: "Am I too unhip to appreciate this?"
And he wrote back: "That album is just hypnotic."
And I played a clip of the song Spiralling couple more times, and then I stopped playing it...and it's gone all fuzzy after that. That album really was hypnotic!
Not only have I gone and bought my own copy, but now I have tickets to the concert at Carnegie Hall, plus anytime someone says "neovagina" I star whispering like Candy Darling.
Plus it's just hard to resist an album that has a song called "My Lady Story."
Y'all better go listen to these clips, 'cause I have a feeling E isn't going to want to go this weird-ass concert with me, and I'll need one of you man-ladies to go with me.
That is all. |
