| | Well, I finally reached a personal milestone...in the World of Warcraft. I got my epic mount, which - for those of you with real lives - is a fast horse or other type of animal in the game that you can ride around. In the game you start out walking, which gets extremely boring because the World of Warcraft, it turns out, is very large and tedious to explore on foot, especially so for me because I'm a gnome with very short legs. Later in the game you get a mount, which lets you move 60% faster, and then even later than that you get an epic mount which lets you move 100% faster than walking. The thing is, getting the epic mount for a warlock requires either 1) a very long quest that costs a lot of imaginary money and requires you to team up with a lot of 13 year-old boys to play together in a group, or 2) skip the quest and just pay an even larger amount of imaginary money, 510 gold to be exact, and turn in these Mark of Honor things, which I won't bother to explain but I'll mention in case any of you would like to get epic mount of your own. I chose option 2 and last night I got myself a Black War Elekk, which is a sort of alien elephant:
I was prepared to be disappointed - even though it's not real, 510 gold is a lot of fake money to spend, and I couldn't imagine it would be worth it - but I have to say: I love my little elephant! I'll have to make another video because Jerri looks really, really funny on top of the big fat elephant as it waddles around. It's actually kind of wide and gets stuck in doorways that the horse I used to have would slip right through. The picture above is one I found on the internets of a much-more-fearsome-looking character. I'm realizing that of all the other mounts I've seen, mine is not nearly as commonly seen and definitely the most adorable. It would be so super handy if I could play Warcraft at work, at least for today. I'm soooo out of things to do at the moment. I guess I could spend some time fantasizing about my vacation this coming weekend, to fabulous Palm Springs and this fantastic house. It's gonna be some good times! Finally, I can play World of Warcraft in the great outdoors! Ha ha.... That is all. |
