Xanga to the rescue!
Today, packages arrived from my mother-in-law. We arranged them under
the tree, and went out to run some errands. When I got home, I
saw torn wrapping paper, and empty fluted chocolate wrappers.
Sancho, our puppy, had gotten into the presents and eaten a box of
candy. I remembered reading on
Solitaryman's site, a home remedy to induce vomiting in dogs:
1:1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide to water. Give 1 tsp for every 10 pounds of weight.
I found a website on the subject which helpfully listed the symptoms of
chocolate poisoning in dogs, and advised using a turkey baster to dose
the dog. Well,
that was
a laugh and a half. I finally had to pour the mixture into my
hand and let him lap it up, which he did readily because he loves
me so. It took a while, but he eventually vomited, and appears to
be fine. He's over 50 pounds now and it was a small box of candy.
Let's see if I can put in a picture of the naughty puppy:
Yesterday at work, saw my first ECO: Enforced Custody
Order. It was a routine day, when suddenly the cops burst through
the door with a violently struggling man. All was yelling and
confusion, and they crashed to the floor in front of the discharge
room, but eventually got him into a room. ...All he wanted was to see
his cousin. LOL.
