The Proof is in the Photos
I'm going to shut up today and just let the photos speak for themselves with a few explanations. So you've probably seen some of these earlier photos. I started posting them, last year, when I was doing the BFL challenge. I started my first challenge in 2006, but was having back problems so that challenge had to be abandoned, which is unfortunate. I ended up trying to stay on track with eating right, but was very limited on exercise...so I didn't really count it as a full challenge. At the time of what would have been my week 12, I weighed 113 lbs and my body fat had gone down to 21%. You can see below, the portion of the challenge that I took photos of. It looks like I had hit a plateau if you look at the bodyfat % numbers and my scale weight. My 2nd challenge is also illustrated in photos...with the exception of my 12 week photos. They haven't been taken yet.

I lost a lot of weight after that first attempted challenge, but I quickly gained a lot of it back because I just gave up. My back injury really frustrated me...and I actually told myself I was just going to be fat and happy, etc. etc. I quit caring. I started watching my diet a little more and then thought, "Hey, if I'm going to do this...Why not go all out?" And so I took on challenge #2. This time, determined to be a success. I have gone from 23.3% bodyfat down to 13.72%. I'm nearly at a low enough body fat level to see abdominals! To give you an idea of how much I'm thrilled, my goal was 16%...I have overshot my goal! My new goal is to see a six-pack and get down to a competition-level bodyfat percentage (I'm just a few percentage points away). I'm thinking of doing some figure competitions and my husband is now thinking of doing some bodybuilding competitions. Pretty shocking if you could have seen us just six months ago. Actually, if you've been reading my blog, I think you know just how unhappy and unhealthy I was. I am now in great cardiovascular shape and athletically. I'm probably in better shape now than I was at 21...and I'm still going!
