hm...

i'm actually kind of sad to leave home this summer. probably because it feels like i've barely been here at all. i'm stuffing my life into two suitcases, one cardboard box, and a backpack and clearing out. i'm just not thrilled to be going back to school so early, especially when my close friends won't be there for another week and a half. and all the people who will be there are living on the second floor. it gets kinda creepy when you're the only one in that old house...

but anyway.

(i will miss you dearly and wish i'd spent more time with you when i had the chance. know that i think of you often and that i'm counting the days until that return flight. and even if we grow apart, i will always remember you fondly. best wishes in everything you do, even if i don't quite understand why.)

all i really wanted for my birthday was a nice family meal. i should've remembered that those don't exist. what i did get, though, was a nifty "dirty shakespeare" mug and a new pair of shoes. and some books, as always.

i go back to smith in... what, eleven days? i can't believe it. the summer has just shot by and i haven't done even half of what i wanted to do. never before have i felt a loss of time so acutely. maybe i'm just getting old.
