  • Leaving on a jet plane: part 2

    UPDATE AT BOTTOM

So this is it, tomorrow I leave for Missouri, I'll be getting on the first plane I've ever been on and I will be traveling alone. Scott and Frank told me to bring some chewing gum because my ears are gonna wanna pop and bring me great discomfort (thanks for the tip fellas *wink*). I paid an extra $10 to guarantee a window seat so I can pear out  upon the fiery death that might await me, as we fall thousands of miles out of the sky to our doom. Ah, it's not the fall that scares me... it's the sudden stop at the end. I heard it's a doozy . Nah, I'll be fine... I'll just use that little trick that Indiana Jones did with the inflatable raft in The Temple Of Doom, yeah, thats what I'll do... no worries.

    • Plane ticket to Missouri: $40
    • Living expenses: $50
    • Pretending that you're Indiana Jones while free falling through the air on a life raft because your plane ran out of fuel: Priceless
There are some things that money can't buy...  lol

I'll try to take some pictures to show you guys when I return.

What was your first trip away from home on your own? And do any of you have stress reliever tips for the take off and landing? I heard they can be nerve racking for a first time flyer.

Ok, so... I'm in Missouri! *smiles* Things are going great, I feel at home. The flight was amazing, it was so much fun... I liked it a lot. I can't wait to fly again. Ok, well, there is a birthday party I have to get back to.

I freaking LOVE indiana jones movies!!!!

gum is totally something to bring... also a book, for waitning @ the airport...

lets see the first time on a trip on my own... well I don't know if you count visiting my grandparents... would go for a few weeks every summer... but the first time I traveled alone, was 17 flying back home from colorado, my mom moved out there and so we drove... but then I flew back on my own... but it was really just fine... then I traveled several times on my own to visit... and once flying out of midway (chicago) to denver... I was standing behind Kyle Chandler at one of the food cart stands... course I was a dummy and didn't say anything... but he smelled really nice

    hav a great trip!!!! ttfn...

I was 11. Flew to Atlanta and was met at the airport by my mother and her new husband. It was cool flying alone, but the rest of the trip (driving) to my new home in Florida was not so much fun.

I was 11 or 12, went on a 4 hour bus journey to my mother's house, it was 80 miles but it stopped at a lot of places. It was a familiar journey, I'd done it often before but accompanied.

$40 seems very cheap for a plane ticket.

    Flying is fun. I would fly anywhere anytime. My first experience was going to a music festival in Colorado the take-off and landing are not so bad. Even in Denver where you have to dip down quickly between the mountains was not bad. The most memorable flight was going to Illinois part of the flight was on a small prop pane and we were close enough to the ground to see cows that was fun. The longest fligjht was to the Philippines 23 hours including an hour lay over in San Fransico. I was glad to get off that plane. Hope you have a great time. {{hugs}}

The butterfly effect was awesome, althogh the sequel was kinda lame. I loved the bit about the picture albumn that was never there. Whoa!

Since i was practically BORN on a plane, i'm always incredulous when i hear of people who never flew before...i can understand people who never JUMPED OUT OF ONE before, THAT is an acquired taste

    Randomly---

Butthole of course...then you rinse off the soap REAL GOOD so you don't start with buttsoap your neXt time out:-d

    2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
Navy Blue...ALTHOUGH i'd give an arm and a leg for a Bill Belichik Patriots' hoodie

    3. Do you like coffee?
    Sure, especially Maxwell House instant
    5. How are you feeling RIGHT now?
Jumping out of me skin [tobacco withdrawl] combo'd with a Rocky Mountain High (since i'm in Colorado)
