Today is a long, LONG day at the office, and it doesn't help that I'm not really motivated to do anything. That's how I get when I see a full schedule: I do what's on the agenda, and nothing more. Granted, I guess I have the right to be a bit slack right now since I'm on my lunch break. If I don't force people to stay out of my office, then I end up putting out fires when I should be enjoying my moment of tranquility.
Here's what my schedule looks like today:
9:30 am - 11: Meeting 11 am - 11:45 am: Training 12 - 1:30: Class (notice the 15 minute "break") 1:30 - 2:30 pm: LUNCH! 2:30 - 5:30 pm: Admin work: reports, emails, paperwork, etc. 5:45 - 7:15 pm: Teach 7:30 pm: Assessment 7:45 - 9:15 pm: Teach
Lovely huh? Since I know that today is going to be such a long day, I almost feel like doing nothing in the afternoon. Even if I did absolutely nothing between 1:30 and 5:30, I would still work more than seven hours today, so I don't feel all that guilty for taking an extended lunch break, or be less than 100% productive during this time.
It's days like today that I'm glad that I decided to go back home! 114 days to go! |
