Today has been one of those days when everyone wants something from me, and they all want it NOW!    There's nothing more annoying or frustrating than having ten people come into your office or call you in the span of an afternoon and say, "I need this.  How soon can you get it to me.  It's urgent!"  Everything in my office seems to be "urgent" and it drives me up the wall sometimes.  Okay, more than sometimes.  It drives me nuts constantly. 

So here I am, in Hsinchu AGAIN.  This week I haven't been in my office much.  I've been out and about, visiting prospective clients, teaching, or in meetings. (Sometimes I feel like I'm living in a Dilbert comic strip! )  So my e-mail and other administrative responsibilities have been piling up.  I've got about 30 e-mails that I need to reply to in my inbox back in my office... but of course I couldn't touch those because I absolutely had to come to Hsinchu to meet a possible client at 5 p.m.  At 5:30 she called to say she was going to be a few more minutes late.  It's 6 p.m. now, and she still hasn't arrived.  So basically I had to rush through my work at my office to get on a bus at 3 p.m. to get here before 5 p.m. (Hsinchu is about 1.5 hours by bus away from Taipei) only to sit around doing nothing for an hour.  Since I don't have a laptop and all of my work is in my office, I can't do anything productive so here I am writing a Xanga entry instead.  The meeting with the client (if she shows up) will probably last about a half hour to an hour at most, at which point I will get back on the bus to go back to Taipei.    This isn't even a big client, so I honestly have no idea why I my boss insisted that I come down.

Efficiency is obviously not something that comes naturally to people around here.

All I can say is TGIF! 

//EDIT: It's 9 p.m. and I'm still in Hsinchu.    The client finally showed up, but an hour late, at the same time that another appointment showed up... and the third one showed up early.  Murphy's Law.  I love my life.    84 days and counting.
