Hm.  I'm in the mood to write, but have no idea what to write.  This didn't used to happen to me.  I used to be able to sit down and toss out a poem or even a very short story with little effort.  I'm not saying it was high-quality, but it was always a start, and could be refined.  These days, when it comes time to write something, I just go blank.  It's like my brain shuts down.

I finally did tonight's homework, and am sure I didn't do it the way the instructor showed us.  It worked, and I suppose that's the important part, but I was very frustrated.  The assignment was to write a program to figure yearly costs for a car.  The only variables I had to deal with were Insurance, Maintenance, and Gas.  I also had to write a splash-screen to go with it.  That's the annoying copyright info that pops up and sticks around for a couple seconds before giving you the program you really want.   That's the part that I don't think I did right.  I felt like I was doing a workaround, when there should have been a very easy way to do it.  I guess it'll have to do, though, considering I already turned it in!

My next homework assignment (which I should be working on instead of writing in here, but I had to clear my head), is for English Composition.  In fact, I have a couple assignments due there.  The one that isn't coming to me is the "3 reasons why" paper.  It's an expository paragraph, and my subject is "Reasons to Follow a Vegetarian Lifestyle."   Topic sentence is the typically boring "There are several good reasons to follow a vegetarian lifestyle."  The reasons I pulled out of thin air in class last week were 1) expense -- meat is expensive 2) health -- meat (especially processed) is high in fat and cholesterol 3) environmental -- most of us have heard all those statistics about how many starving people we could feed with the grain fed to beef cows and how much methane they produce, etc.  Now it's time to actually write it down in logical order and my brain won't do it.  Blargh.

Next week is Spring Break and I am SO looking forward to it.  I'll finally get around to some of the reworks of old assignments that I've been intending, and, hey, maybe I'll actually sleep past 6 am and get to bed before 1 am.  Wow, that would be novel.  I probably won't!  I'm debating whether to tell my boss when my Spring Break is.  She asked me several weeks ago, and I didn't know at that point.  Now it's so very tempting to still take off the 45 minutes early on my evening class nights and show up at 11:30 on my Thursday morning.  What a bad girl I am.

OK, I suppose my writer's block is officially gone if I'm blathering this much.  Off to work on English! :-D
