I certainly made up for some lost time with those long-ass entries.

I went to Arkansas-land with my stepfather + fam.  We even got our pickcher taken at a National Military Park for posterity.  If you're ever at Pea Ridge, your new scavenger hunt goal is to find that photo.    The big kid did the Jr. Ranger thingy there.  That's actually a good idea.  It gets the kids to stop and look, but to keep up also.  He found every answer but one, and that's because we didn't watch all the films.  The Ranger gave him that answer and gave him his Jr. Ranger badge.  He showed it off quite happily.
Several members of my stepfather's family are really into genealogy, so I got a few sheets with family info up several generations.  My gramma on that side was one of 11 children.  10 of them lived to adulthood and most of those went on to make more babies and grandbabies.  One of my s-f's cousins made this really cool DVD/slide-show with a whole bunch of photos and bits of history.  It was mostly the photos, and she did a beautiful job of labeling who's who and stuff like that.  We've added a whole bunch of stuff to our Family Tree.  actually bought a new family tree program that does a lot of the work for you.  It's pretty cool once you get the hang of it.  I guess I was too used to the home-brew Tree we had going on.

The little kid and I went to the library yesterday.  We had some overdue books.  Apparently I remembered right about the 24-hour grace period, because they didn't ask me for any money.  I checked out probably 5 more, and he got 3 movies.  No books for him this time.  Ah well.  Today, the big kid neeeeeeeeeeded to go to the library.  I managed to finish the one book I'd rechecked yesterday, so I gave in and returned it, letting him go check out some books.  He picked 4 Star Wars books.  He wandered all over the children's library with the librarian.  "I think the author's name starts with a W, and it's sci-fi.  Well, there's this other author that starts with an E.  Edmonds?  Oh, there's an author Matthews that I like...."  I think she lost 5 pounds following the little goob around before he finally gave in and settled on the Star Wars series.
I'm'a gonna go read some books and make this a shorter entry than the previous ones.
