  • Fear and Trepidation

Today we are preparing for what has to be one of the biggest beat downs known to humanity.  I know some people really enjoy it, and live for the moment, but as for me and my house, not so much.

I'm referring, of course, to the dreaded GARAGE SALE!

I have to say that I believe this was a technique invented during the cold war as a means for interrogating suspected enemy spies.  "You better tell us, or tomorrow morning we'll make you set up and operate a garage sale for 8 hours straight!  Not only that, but you'll have to go through the entire house the rest of today, figure out which items to sell, and PRICE THEM ALL!"

Somebody just put me out of my misery.  Oh well, at least the kids will have fun......???  What's that complaining I hear?

At least so far I've only done one major piece of damage.  I pulled the garage door support brace out of the ceiling by tying a rope from brace to brace, and hanging clothes on the rope.  One trip to Lowe's down, many more to come, I'm sure.

If I'm not at church Sunday, those of you from HCC will know why.

  • It's All in Your Perspective

So I went for another shot in the throat yesterday for my SD.  For those that don't know that I have a voice condition, or what it is, you can find out more about it here, or contact me and I'll give you the details.  This time was different though, because my lovely wife came with me into the room and watched.  Her thoughts on the procedure?

"I ain't lying, it's pretty weird watching people stick needles in your throat."

Didn't seem so bad to me before that.

  • Why O?

So I would genuinely like to know, if you support Obama, why?  I'm curious why you believe he should get your vote, or my vote.  This isn't intended as a jab at Obama, I would just like to understand.

Perhaps McCain will be my next post.

  • In Memory of Scott

My friend, Scott, passed away today at 2:15 p.m.  He leaves behind his wife, Sharon, and their kids Sarah and David.  Scott and I played basketball together at DCC.

It was a blessing to see you finish strong, Scott.  I pray I can finish with as much grace.

    Save us a seat,

    B

“And as [Aslan] spoke, He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before. (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis)
