Operation Snickerdoodle

So Nevermind and Actually were *determined* to see if these two ABC.inc bears were working for another company by implementing Operation Snickerdoodle in the midst of their day. WHEW! Thankfully, it turns out that the ABC.inc bears were not employed by another company and so no need for any more work. However, during the investigation N and A realized their new furry little friends weren't Christian!!! O_O So what did Nevermind and Actually do? They shared the gospel message, of course!!! Awww...dang, my bears are so smart. They live for the Lord all the time--what Godly bears!

This is Nevermind and Actually reading the Bible and finding verses to share with the other bears.

Other Updates

1. Virginia: WOW! I have to say that the last two weeks were great as I was able to learn so much and meet so many people and friends! During that time, my body guards (Nevermind and Actually) decided to do some reading while I was at work...Here are some photos...

They had their own bed to sleep while I slept in the other one...

I came in one day and house keeping moved my bears to this position!    (They are usually sitting on one bed...together)

Hmm...I don't think they liked to be separated, so I moved Nevermind to be with Actually, again.

An Interesting (but sad) Trend...

Since 2005, I've noticed a slew of tragic suicides by actors and actresses in Korea. I can't help but think this is so sad as they (most likely) were not Christian. So here's the list of people I can think of off the top of my head:

1. Lee Eun-joo: LEE started it all, shocking the world with her sudden death in February 2005. She was known to be a beautiful woman who starred in popular Korean soap operas and Korean movies. However, it was reported she had been struggling with depression and insomnia. She ended her life by hanging herself with her brother's neck tie in her closet. A suicide note was left.

2. Jung Da-bin: On the morning of Saturday, February 10, 2007, Jung committed suicide in the apartment of her boyfriend in Seoul. She was found by her boyfriend hanging in his bathroom with a towel wrapped around her neck. While no apparent suicide note was left behind, an entry in her on-line blog shortly before her death indicated she was suffering from depression.

3. Ahn Jae-hwan: Ahn Jae Hwan (36) was found dead on September 8, 2008 in his car. His death was speculated to be suicide and investigations to his death reveals he suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. It was rumored that Ahn owed money to actress Choi Jin-shil and Choi was pressuring Ahn to repay the debt. However, Choi has adamantly denied claims of any loans and an employee of a security firm who spread this rumor has been arrested.

4. Choi Jin-shil: Choi was found dead in her bathroom on October 2, 2008. It is reported Choi was suffering from depression after her divorce from baseball player Jo Sung-min and always worried about financial security. A rumor also implicated her in the death of Ahn Jae-hwan (no. 3). For more information, go to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/02/choi-jin-sil-south-korean_n_131124.html

A Wonderful Weekend!

Wow, what a great weekend! I'm so blessed with wonderful friends and such a great opportunity to attend a great church...thank you and praise the Lord. =D

So here's what happened:

1. Friday- Met a friend and ate a super yummy Italian meal at Tyson's Corner Mall.

2. Saturday- Met with the same friend and spent the day running errands. Since it was lunch time, we also stopped by a delicious sushi restaurant for a great meal.  The sushi chef thought I was Korean and so when my food was brought to me, the waitress asked, "The chef thought you were Korean and gave you more things--on the house."  WOW!  I've never been treated like that in Los Angeles!  ;)  Hmm...my tummy was satisfied.

Saturday evening I met Yeonmin and her very, very nice husband, Guy. I have known Yeonmin since I was a freshman in college and she was a PhD student...man, does time fly! The awesome couple took me a fantastic Korean restaurant for dinner, too, and of course, we chatted about things happening in our lives. Hmm...again, my tummy was satisfied. Hee, hee, hee...;)

3. Sunday- Met Soon-you and went to Sovereign Grace Church in Fairfax, VA. SGC is a church plant from CJ Mahaney's ministry (http://www.sovereigngraceministries.org/). I was so thankful to attend and hear such a wonderful message about joy and what it means to have joy in a Believer's life. ;) Also, the people were very nice and welcoming--it makes me want to move to Virginia even more!

After church, Soon-you and I ventured to Annandale to eat some finger-lickin' good sushi! Hmm was it good! ;)   Have you noticed how much I love food and tend to focus most of my entries on it? =D

Nevermind and Actually:These silly rascals are fervently reading the Bible while I am at work. Sometimes I walk into my room and notice they have changed positions though...hmmm...I think the cleaning ladies are playing with them, too. =oP

So what comes of this trip? I seriously wish I could have the best of both worlds:A. Have great work, and B. Live in the Fairfax area of VA where there is peace and quiet, not much traffic, and wonderful churches. It seriously is a *bummer* that my company doesn't have a vacancy for me in the Washington DC office. (It's almost near to impossible to find a vacancy, and if there is a spot, most likely it will be a position that is not really for my expertise. *sigh* *sniff*)

Lessons Learned...

*sigh* I did it again... While I was in DC for a couple of days visiting a company (let's call it ABC.inc), I had the opportunity to peruse its gift shop. As I walked in, my eyes immediately zeroed in on these *cute* furry little bears wearing a fleece hoodie. Of course, I immediately thought to myself, "You can't buy another stuffed animal for yourself! What are Nevermind and Actually going to think? You have enough of them already!" My inner self continued to struggle with this dilemma and finally I compromised...I bought these two little furry friends to give them as gifts to other people! Hee, hee, hee...well, little did I know that when I went home, I would be instigating yet more chaos in my room!

After my flight landed at LAX, I came home and immediately started unpacking my things. Nevermind and Actually, very devoted employees to my boss, were very excited to see me again, when all of a sudden, they noticed some furry little heads sticking out of my luggage! O_O AH! Their immediate assumption was these little bears would replace them and therefore, they felt threatened! =( *sniff*

After Nevermind and Actually recovered from the initial shock, they demanded that I not trust these innocent-looking bears for the following reasons: 1. I know very little about these bears and 2. It is possible these little bears (who were hecho en China) are co-optees for the enemy, monitoring my activity and then reporting it to their boss!, and 3. How can I trust ABC.inc? O_O *gasp* Hmm...albeit I never thought about it in that sense, I concluded with the following plan:

Nevermind and Actually have been tasked to recruit these bears and then start a double agent operation to find if they are truly tasked by ABC.inc. After recruitment is a success, the bears will be working for my boss. ;)

Hee, hee, hee...I know, what an imagination I have! =OP Please don't think I'm weird...I'm just trying to be creative.

Some Other News
1. Tiger Will NOT be my Supervisor: So it's official--Tiger *will not* be my supervisor. Someone from the east coast was given the job and will report for duty in about three months (after he finds a house, etc.). I have to admit, it was a relief to hear this news, though I initially did hear the rumor about a week ago. For those who do not know, there were some lessons to be learned from this event. It was an eye opener to see how the Lord can humble us and to always remember to not assume things.

2. More Traveling: I'll be out of town for the next two weeks. During that time, I plan to spend much time in the Word and listening to Jack Hughes' messages from the Foundry retreat (which I did not attend).

Two of my Most Favorite Things:

So over the past year I have developed a savoring appetite for two unusual things: 1. Pesto, 2. Hummus.

Here's how:

1. A group of co-workers and I went to eat at an Italian place last fall and I decided to order the "Pesto pasta" since I hadn't had it in years. After receiving my food, my fork gathered the pasta, and the moment the pasta touched my tongue, I felt a sense of overwhelming joy!   I didn't realize how good pesto was until that very moment!   My eyes opened wide and though the dish was enough to feed two people, no noodle was left behind.   Since that beautiful fall day, I have purchased pre-made pesto at the grocery store and eating it every week at work for lunch (along with a yummy salad and other things). Hmm...

2. Last fall, I was quietly sitting at my desk working diligently when all of a sudden I had an overwhelming craving to consume some hummus! I thought it was odd as I don't eat the Mediterranean dish very often, nor have I ever had a craving for it!    Well, in order to quench the intense craving, after work, I immediately went to the grocery store and bought a tub. Since then, I have been enjoying hummus and crackers almost daily (at work) as a mid-morning snack. If I don't have my usual hummus fix at work, I come home and eat hummus inside a pita pocket with fresh cucumbers. Hmm...

As a result of my unusual pesto craving, today was the first day I made pesto from scratch--and yes, it was a success! The sauce was a creamy consistency as I did not wish to use a lot of olive oil, and instead, replaced a lot of the oil with part-skim ricotta cheese. I think from this day forward, I will be making more "home-made pesto"...yummy!

Hmm...now that I re-read my note, I've noticed all my cravings occur while I'm at work. Strange...I wonder if other people have experienced the same thing?
