Climate Change Committee Nears Formation
The House is expected to approve the formation of a special committee today called the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Climate Change. The move for a new committee is rumored to counter Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), a strong ally of the auto industry, and Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee. The committee will be chaired by Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) and will consist of 9 Democrats and 6 Republicans.
