No Refruiting It: Chiquita Funds Terrorists
Chiquita Brands International admitted in federal court Monday that it purposefully engaged in transactions with known terrorist groups. The government responded by fining the company $25 million dollars (or 150 million bananas at .49 cents a pound). The company said it paid the organizations in effort to protect its employees. Among the organizations receiving funds were the United Self-Defense Forces of Columbia (AUC) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia (FARC).Posted by D. Price
