Edison's Light Bulb Banned -- Bright Idea, or Not?
It started in Cuba and has moved on to Venezuela, Australia, and Canada. Europe says that soon you won't be able to find them in stores. Banning the common light bulb? It's true and it might happen in the US. "It's a global sweep so far, triggered by worries that the invention of Thomas Edison uses too much energy or generates too much heat for the earth tolerate," reports WND.
Represenative Jane Harman (CA-36, D) has introduced HR 1547 in the House to prohibit the sale of all incandescent light bulbs nationwide; this occurred just one day after one of Harman's colleagues told the media that a legislative ban would be a "last choice."
News of the light bulb banning has led to a variety of responses from both government officials and the general public. Only time will tell if such a banning will be an efficient and energy saving decision or leave most people in the dark.

These new lightbulbs might be good for "global warming," but they're hazardous for humans. According to Rush Limbaugh, they contain mercury, which can release harmful radition if the lightbulb breaks.
Outlawing the competition to sell these lightbulbs is another example of liberal-sponsered communism. Why can't they just create a better product, make it affordable, and let capitalism take its course?
