SC Debate Mostly Ho-Hum
The presidential debate season kicked off yesterday with few attacks and not too many glaring mistakes. Eight candidates were invited to participate. Among them were Sen. Joe Biden (DE), Sen. Hillary Clinton (NY), Sen. Chris Dodd (CT), former Sen. John Edwards (NC), former Sen. Mike Gravel (AK), Rep. Dennis Kucinich (OH), Sen. Barack Obama (IL), and Governor Bill Richardson (NM). Pundits believed that if anyone came out as a winner it was Clinton, who appeared very polished. Obama seemed to struggle at times, especially with foreign policy questions. The only harsh words of the night came from Kuicinich and Gravel, both third tier candidates.The first Republican debate is scheduled for May 3 at the Reagan Presidential Library in California.
