GAO To Report Unmet Iraq Benchmarks
According to the Associated Press, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), an agency commisioned by Congress to review progress in Iraq, will reportedly issue a report indicating that at least 13 of 18 political and military benchmarks have not been met. The White House is planning on downplaying the findings citing that Congress' parameters for the report does not allow the GAO to show progress being made, just absolute successes and failure. This report will likely be used by politicians on both sides of the aisle to push their own perspectives on the Iraq war.Posted by D. Price
