Weekend Recap
Election Day 2007 is tomorrow and we are now officially less than a year away from electing our 44th President. Stay tuned to a week's worth of coverage of all things elections. But first, here's a little dose of what happened this weekend.HRC White House papers will go public in '08 (According to the Clinton library, much of Hillary's documents are set to go public in 2008. My guess is that they won't contain anything particularly condemning. Hillary has been under fire, particularly by Barack Obama, for keeping her papers a secret. Hillary has said she will prohibit some from being released until after 2012).
Bush Sr. says bond with Bill won't silence him on Hillary (If anyone thinks that Bush 41's friendship with Bill Clinton is a sign of favor to Hillary as well, they are mistaken according to Bush).
Thompson supports state, local freedoms (Fred Thompson "survived" his Meet the Press interview with Tim Russert. Thompson reiterated his stance that abortion and gay marriage should be handled by the states and not by the federal government. As the article indicated, this view might have posed a problem for Thompson except it is less controversial in light of other major candidate's stances and shifts on the issue (See Giuliani, Romney)).
Voters Irked by Candidate's 2 A.M. Call (Well, there's more than one way to ensure that your call gets picked up, call when everyone's asleep! A company accidentally programed recorded calls to go through at 2 AM to voters instead of 2 PM. The candidate was urged to apologize to the recipients by his opponent at "a reasonable hour).
