Preliminary reports say that 3,000 to 5,000 people had died
and 80 percent of buildings toppled in Beichuan county in Sichuan
province after the 7.8-magnitude quake. Another 10,000 people there
were believed to be hurt.
Thankfully, some outside aid is now being accepted to help the more than 2 million displaced from this cyclone. The official death toll is over 28,000 with another 33,416 still missing.
